Vi unge fra Den Grønne Ungdomsbevægelse strejker netop nu
foran de vigtigste landbrugsforhandlinger i årtier.

Vi kræver et opgør med den største udleder i landbruget – Danmarks massive animalske produktion,
der både står for 85 % af landbrugets udledninger og optager 80 % af landbrugsarealet.

Hvorfor sultestrejker vi?

Lige nu er de vigtigste landbrugsforhandlinger for Danmarks grønne omstilling, i sin slutspurt. Vi har i fem år demonstreret for det afgørende opgør med den industrielle animalske produktion i Danmark. Vi har brugt mange forskellige metoder, som politikerne har valgt ikke at lytte til. Sultestrejken er den mest kraftfulde protest, vi har tilbage. 

Vi sultestrejker, fordi regeringen og landbrugslobbyen vil fastholde den danske dyreproduktion, som både forurener, beslaglægger plads, forstærker et uretfærdigt fødevaresystem og truer den fremtidige fødevaresikkerhed. 

Hvad kræver vi?

CO₂-afgift på landbruget: For at sikre en reduktion af den animalske produktion kræver vi en høj og målrettet CO₂-afgift på 1.500 kr./ton CO2 i 2030, som eksperterne i Klimarådet anbefaler. Den nuværende Grøn Trepart-aftale foreslår en så lille afgift, at den på ingen måde imødekommer de kriser for klimaet og fødevaresikkerheden, som det animalske landbrug forårsager.

‍Rammer de største forurenere: Afgiften skal målrettes de største landbrugsforurenere og tage hensyn til små og mellemstore jordbrug.

‍Støtte til plantebaseret produktion: Vi kræver, at provenuet fra afgiften og landbrugsstøtten generelt prioriterer omlægning til plantebaseret fødevareproduktion. Det skal blandt andet ske via støtte til gældsramte landmænd, der ønsker at omlægge deres produktion frem for at investere i teknologiske løsninger såsom fodertilsætningsstoffer og pyrolyse, som landbrugslobbyen foreslår.

FOR THE GREEN YOUTH MOVEMENT'S

HUNGER 
STRIKE

We are a group of young people from The Green Youth Movement
who are now striking in front of the most important negotiations in decades.

We demand a transformation of the biggest polluter in agriculture – the massive Danish animal production,
which make up 85 % of the emissions from Danish agriculture and take up 80 % of its area.

Why do we hunger strike?

Right now its the endgame for the most important negotiations on Danish agriculture. For five years we’ve protested for a complete transformation with the industrial animal production – we’ve used a lot of different methods, which the Danish politicians have chosen not to listen to. A hunger strike is the most powerful protest we have left. 

We are hunger striking, because the government and agricultural-lobbyists are hanging on to the Danish animal production, which is both polluting, seizing space, and enhancing an unjust food-system and threatening future food safety.

What are our demands?

A carbon tax on agriculture: To secure a reduction of the Danish animal production, we demand a high and targeted carbon tax on 1.500 DKK per tonne CO₂ which is suggested by the experts from the Danish Climate Council. The current “Grøn Trepart” agreement suggests such a low tax that it in no way sizes up to the crises to climate and food safety which the industry causes.

‍Hit the largest polluters: The carbon tax must be targeted towards the agricultural sector’s biggest polluters and support the small to medium farms.

‍Support for plant-based productions: We demand that the proceeds from taxation and agricultural aid generally prioritize the transition towards a plant-based food-production system. This should foremost be done by supporting indebted farmers that wish to transition their production, rather than investing in alleged technological solutions such as feed additives and pyrolysis which lobby organizations are suggesting.
